About
Skrip SciComm Inc. is owned and operated by me, Dr. Megan Skrip, and is a registered Alberta corporation accepting clients in both the US and Canada. Originally from New England, I now live in Alberta. I was trained as a scientist (an avian ecologist to be precise) and have been helping other scientists to communicate their work for over ten years.
Leveraging my scientific background, I focus on the environmental, ecological, wildlife, and agricultural sciences.
I am passionate about making researchers’ lives easier (not everyone loves to write and edit as much as I do!) by helping them publish manuscripts, apply for funding, and otherwise tell the stories of their work for a variety of audiences. I worked as a public information officer at a large public university for over eight years, gaining extensive experience collaborating with academic scientists from graduate students to tenured professors. During that time, I helped researchers to secure over US$3 million in grant funding and publish 20 manuscripts. I also serve on the board of a nonprofit that champions understanding and enjoyment of nature.
